Fraud. They called me warning of fraud on my account and just needing a little bit of personal info. I declined and they warned that a transaction would be returned. I called the real Wells Fargo number and they said there was no fraud on my account. Entries claiming this number is legitimate are probably posted by the scammers themselves.

Claimed to be Wells Fargo. It’s a fraud! Do not give them any information. Called Wells Fargo branch office and customer service and both said the phone number is NOT associated with them. Whoever is posting the number is legitimate is part of the SCAM!!! BEWARE

Claimed to be from Wells Fargo and sounded very convincing and understood my reluctance to give any info over the phone and gave me a reference number to call back with. Said if I didn't call back, a transaction would be reported as fraud. Called Wells Fargo directly, they said they do not have any record of the reference number (said it was one number short), nor this number as being a legitimate call back number for Wells Fargo.

This number actually is legitimate; unfortunately, the Wells Fargo customer service department apparently doesn't know this and is giving out bad information to ignore these calls. I had to speak with 3 Wells Fargo representatives (including someone in the "Escalation Department") to confirms its legitimacy. WELLS FARGO NEEDS TO GET ITS ACT TOGETHER AND TRAIN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ABOUT THIS SO THEY DON'T GIVE OUT BAD ADVICE! I would strongly suggest that if you get a call from this number, you either trust it or escalate the issue up to someone who knows what they are talking about and confirm if there is actually a real issue or not with your account.

Received voice mail from "Victor" at 877-352-0969 on both my work and cell phone numbers. He claims there was an "unusual transaction" on my account. I took the messages to a Wells Fargo branch. The bank officers said this is a fraudulent number, phishing attempt, and advised me to block the number.

Completely legit and not fraud. Anyone that tells you anything different has not verified our department correctly. I work in this department and our number is not listed FOR A REASON

Legit number. Received multiple calls today from them. Called into the main number, got transferred to Customer Fraud Detection department and they verified that this was their number. That being said, DO NOT give them your information. Numbers can be spoofed. They will give you a reference number. Get that number, and then call into the main WF number off of their website or from your card, and ask for Customer Fraud Detection team, and give them the reference number. NEVER give your identifying information to someone that calls you.

This is legit. I called WF to confirm.

I received a call this morning claiming from WF business account division. They hung up after I said that I don't fall for these scammers.

I received a call from "WF Fraud Dept" and was told to call back at this number. I looked up a number from the WF website and called it. They directed me to their fraud dept. and told me that that number is a valid number. I did have fraudulent transactions on my account.

Called me today [2019-01-03] also claiming to be Wells Fargo fraud prevention. I called WF and they said they had no events of note. So one more vote for phishing.

I received the same call this evening. They were professional with their delivery of fraud but something was off when they asked for my cell number to text me the code. STRANGE.

Said they were Wells Fargo fraud protection and asked me to call back. Googled the number and it turns out is a scam and not a WF number. Saying only their first name was the first thing I noticed it was off.

Called last night twice said they were from Wells Fargo Fraud Division. Once leaving a message and again hanging up. This is a scam. Gave fake reference number. They used the phone heading Wells Fargo on your caller ID just to confuse you. I called the bank this morning and told the same. If you give them any information you are opening yourself up to identity theft and a lifetime of headaches.

Same thing as mentioned above. They claimed to be WF fraud department. They asked me questions to verify my identity before they gave me the reason they were calling. Luckily I didn't fall for it. They sounded pretty authentic but I had a feeling they were fake. The nerve of some people...

Said they were Wells Fraud Detection. I called Wells and they said this is not one of their numbers. The rep was rude and nasty and told me to have my bank call them??

I got a call from this number saying he’s from Fraud Protection Dept of Wells Fargo and asked for verification. I was skeptical and didn’t give anything. I called WF to check and turn out it’s a scam number. Beware and be smart!
