| | 310-283-6981 - Called twice & left same message on answering machine - same experience as those mentioned. IRS will never contact you in this manner. IRS website recommends contacting TIGTA to report the call by using their "IRS Impersonation Scam Reporting" web page or call 800-366-4484 OR report it to the Federal Trade Commission using the "FTC Complaint Assistant on the FTC.gov website. Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" in the notes. |

Same voicemail message as others detailed. I called them back and asked to speak to Lois Lerner. They asked for my name and I told them Bob Denver (Gilligan's Island). The person on the other end asked me to hold as she went to find Lois. A moment later she returned to tell me "that agent is not in the office, but I'll leave her a message that you called." Okay, stupid, you do that.
I stored the number in my phone under Fake IRS and continued to harass them until the number was disconnected. |
| | They called me , left a voicemail stating thar tne IRS was suing me, I called back, they did not know why nor who I was. Bulls*** scam call, blocked the number. |
| | woman thick accent claiming to be with the IRS. told her she was a crook |
| | Def a scam - |
| | Same thing.... got a recorded message in a woman's voice asking me to call this number back as soon as possible because the IRS was taking legal action against me. I've not received any notice by mail or anything else, so I'm guessing this is a total scam. |
| | 310-283-6891...also got calls from 575-499-3893. Same story all these other people. Voice recording of Angelo woman and then in my case man with thick accents telling me I owed back taxes to IRS. Happened last Thursday using the NM exchange, and today 8/25/2016 from the 310 exchange. |
| | IRS Fraud scam |
| | irs fraud |
| | I called them - it's a complete fraud. You'll get a case worker with a thick accent looking to confirm who you are, they'll give you a bogus case file and tell you the iRS is auditing for back taxes and you'll ignored their prior requests by mail. I told her it's bulls***, she "elevated" to a senior officer - another guy who could barely speak English - and I tore into him over their scam. The agent told me to go "f*ck myself" - I'm pretty sure that's not how the IRS handles things. |
| | Same as others. Female voice claims IRS is filing suit, demands I call back. Can't be legit, as IRS cannot legally threaten someone via voicemail, since it's unknown who would be listening. Has to be a scam |
| | Stated they were the IRS filing a law suit against me. |
| | Same deal... pre-recorded IRS bull crap |
| | IRS fraud |
| | Called this morning, said they were IRS and taking legal action against us. |
