| | spam spam spam. Anyone know how to get rid of these weird pop-ups in Chrome on the Mac? |
| | Called fake Apple Support number that popped up on my screen. Do not give information to. It's a scam |
| | A fake pop up said call Apple Support. He said my computer had a Koobface infection. He claimed to be a Web Security Expert named Michel Lee ID: EGK-1142B @ 1888-289-7601 with E Geeks Tech Svcs which is a Cisco Certify Tech - Cyber Security Center. He gave me a case id and said his company was located in Dallas, Tx and Bessember, AL. We went through the packages but it did not seem right that he said his name was Michael Lee but had a very strong accent, he said no matter what we did if we didn't get a package we would continue to be hacked and when asked if we could call him back to discuss with the owner he didn't mind being put on hold. The number I initially called was 888-289-7601 and was transferred to 888-484-4957. We told him the owner wanted to call an IT to come out and all the information he had written on the screen he erased and simply hung up on us. Beware this is a big SCAM. |
