877-488-7732 called my cell phone. A familiar chime and a professional sounding recorded voice says "This is Bank of America with an important servicing matter regarding your account". The call then disconnected. Being the fool that I am, I hit the number on my iPhone caller history to call it back. Luckily, a message from my cell phone provider got in the way saying that International calling is disabled on my account. Then I realized this is just another form of the 'one ring' scam where you call a mysterious number back (often an 877 number) and they put a big Toll charge on your phone bill for the call. Googled the number and ended up on this page.

Cherie from BofA left me a voicemail on my phone, saying it was urgent, and leaving an 11-digit case number. I was to call her back at 877-488-7842. I went on the B of A site, and couldn't find the phone number, even after searching their site. Then, I Googled if it was a scam, and saw the info above. Thank you, fellow colleagues, for posting the info to this site.

Numerous calls from this number/ Comes up as Bank of America. We do not do business with that Bank. After receiving and ignoring calls every day for about two months I finally answered one today. The man would only speak to my husband telling me he needed to verify information with him. Gave me an 11 digit reference number to give to the person when he calls back. Since we do not now and never have done business with BOFA there is nothing they need to verify. I blocked the number but if they are like all the other spam callers they will just use a different one I'm sure.

They left a message yesterday morning, however I new that something was not correct since I do not have an account with Bank of America. Glad I did not respond. In addition they provided 2 numbers 877-488-7842 and 877-551-0217

Bank of America! Called my grandmother! Keeps calling her asking for my grandfather! Makes me frustrated! DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE BLOCK THE NUMBER!

A person called my cell phone saying they were from Bank of America and needed to talk to my husband. They wouldn't tell me what it was about and stated that they needed to verify some account information that is missing on his account. The number they gave for him to call them back at was 877-488-7842. This is not the phone number listed for BoA for credit cards or mortgages. We called both numbers listed on the Bank of America Website and they know nothing about anything that they need to talk to us.

Bank of America has a legitimate thing going on right now via mail but the notification even states to bring it into Bank of America. I had already gotten that paperwork and turned it in to Bank of America in person. They have my home not cell phone. This call came on my cell phone. I answered and a man told me he was calling from BoA. I called him out for being a scam and told him I already spoke with the bank in person and they are aware of this scam piggy banking on their real inquiries. He tried to give me a control number and said to call a BoA number I trust to confirm then call him back. He pivoted quickly saying it was regarding what I went to the bank about but said he couldn’t follow up until I give him some info. I said no the bank has my info. He said yes he has it in front of him but I have to confirm with him for security. I hung up and blocked the number.

Called me twice saying they are from Bank of America and urgently need info to continue my service. No such number listed for Bank of America -- total fraud!

Definite scam, called my home and work number...interesting they have both. Said urgent needed information to update my profile. Haven't received any snail mail from them or changed much of anything including address that should need updating so ignored.

Received voice-mail today with same message as stated from others - claiming to be a representative from BOA with an urgent matter - included reference number and said to call this number - sounded phony (I know my account is in good standing) and based on the other comments here, appears to be a scam. I did not return call.

Voice message saying from BofA and there is issue with an active business, requests call back. I called BofA and my acct. has no issues. This is a dangerous scant.

Neil, claiming to be an agent of BOA left a message that there was an urgent matter they wanted to talk to me about. They had my full name. Provided reference number. Noted that I could talk to any of their associates. Doesn't sound authentic to me. Beware!
