| | | i ordered clothing online and when i got my confirmation email this was listed as my phone number!! When i entered my personal information for that order of course it auto-generated my address. i had to change my address because i had moved ....when i looked at my order i noticed it changed my shipping address but had not changed my billing address, which i then changed so it was updated. i called the company i ordered from and they had my correct phone number listed with my shipping address but had this number listed as my phone number from my old address. I find this to be very disturbing and makes me wary of putting any of my personal info online. interestingly enough i had also received a call from "microsoft" some months ago similar to those listed here. |
| | | Got a call - person said they were from Microsoft and could tell that my computer is downloading hacking software and they need to fix it. All I needed to do was give them access to my computer and my cc info so they could add software to stop this from happening again.
I then let him talk for a while - giving him false info, kept him busy for a while. Then told him I had just reported this conversation to the police - he hung up. |

I ask him to please fix the problem and he said he needed my password - I told him if he knew how to reach me by phone then he must know my password to get into my computer to get my phone number...I also told him he was crazy as a run over dog... |

| | | Hindi sounding guy. Says my windows computer sent him a message that my computer is infected. I said my computer is not on at the moment and his reply was that the message was from up to 25 days ago. He asked if I was the owner of the computer and I replied that it was owned by my Dog "Lassie". He paused and then began with very vulgar gestures. I laughed out loud and then hung up. I don't even own a computer at the moment. |

| | | Some Hindi guy telling me that my computer was sending windows notices that it had been haked and he was going to help fix it. I asked him which computer and he couldn't tell me which of my 7 computers. He said it was windows 7 or 8. When I told him I didn't have a windows 7 or 8 he got pushy and said that it didn't matter. Then he told me to just get on the computer and he would show me. He had me open the event viewer. I told him the most recent error was from 4 months ago when I had the computer on. Then he decided that I needed a different tech on the phone to show me. Steven that was Microsoft certified. Then he said do you want me to help fix it or not. He said he would need to get on my computer and fix it for me. And at that point I told him no and to take me off the list of people to call and I know it was a scammer calling. |
