Scam call from someone posing as a Dell Computer Technician. I agree that the best response is to End The Call as soon as possible.

SCAM (Multiple Caller-ID Numbers associated with this issue) - FAKE Dell Technician from overseas trying to get personal info - DELL Corp is aware of it. It seems this SCAM got a database of recent Dell Customers to harass; "need to help with your computer that is at risk per WARRANTY, etc.!" DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO, HANG UP and report to DELL CORP.

Same here. They addressed me by name. They said they were Dell Technical Services and provided a Dell service tag (HPDGC12) which I looked up. This is for a computer intended for the overseas market (Russia I think).

Same thing here: A man with an Indian accent, busy call center noise in the background, said he was a Dell technician, had my full name, email, my laptop model, said they've been sending me emails for the past 3 months about error messages being sent to their system. I said I was at work and couldn't get to my computer, he said his name was William Brown, and to call him back (and only him since he "cannot transfer to the case to anybody else") at 877-557-1981, x- 801266, 9am-7pm (EST).

A heavy East Indian who knew my name and knew I owned a dell computer called. He wanted remote access. I told him I would call him back to be assured it was Dell. He gave me a phone number to call (very different from his number) and a fake name to ask for in order to get him. 1-888-448-5812. I called it and it definitely didn’t sound like Dell! But did answer saying it was Dell.

Man with heavy accent claiming to be from Dell. I put him on speaker so my co workers could enjoy as well. He heard laughter and said he'd kill my mother, my wife, and all my loved ones. He said he'd rape them all first. He seemed as though he wanted to make me angry but we all laughed at him which made him upset. The wild thing is... you could hear kids playing in the background . This guy was saying terrible things and it was obvious he was surrounded by children. He's scum of the earth.

He didn't give me a name, just said he was a Dell Tech, and that he had received a notice from my laptop saying that some of my services had stopped running. He gave me the correct Service and Express Tags (which is SUPER sketchy to me), and that's when I started getting suspicious. He asked a fifth time if my Service tag was correct, and I hung up. He tried to call another 4 times, me declining the call each time while I Googled the number. He said something about my warranty, but I'd stopped listening by that point. He also knew my first name. Creepy.

Received this call from a fake Dell technician, fortunately I was both on the phone and online remotely with real Dell and Law Enforcement so I just made it a group show-and-tell while forensics did their data gathering. Can you believe they hung up on me when I told them? Don't take the call. They'll want you to go down to Walmart and get a $500.00 gift card for them. No credit card, nothing traceable as your accounts may be compromised . . . lol, that was great timing fake East Indian Dell support guy!

A guy with Indian accent claimed to be the Dell guy who help fixed my Dell computer issue a few months ago. But the one who helped me was a woman spoke perfect American English. Told him to call back and I was at lunch away from my PC. And blocked the number. What a scammer. LOL

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!! someone called my gf from this number claiming to b dell tech support claiming to have received error messages from her laptop. he had all her info and it sounded like he was in a very busy call room. it didn't feel right to me but she ignored me and told me to go away. when i came back into the room she had given him remote access to her laptop and he was telling her that there was a terrible virus on her laptop and that he could remove it for the low low price of $250 because it wasn't covered by her warranty. i unplugged the modem and he immediately got flustered said hold on and hung up. called dell fraud reporting and she said its not their number. ran malwarebytes and native av software... no bad stuff there. complete scam! report immediately to authorities. this must b a brand new number seeing as i'm the first one posting
