Phone phishing scam claiming to be the IRS. Stated this was the last notification that the IRS had filed suit against me. Asked for return call same number. Never stated my name or any identifying information.

At 10:45 am, 8/29/16 Unknown Name on called ID. Left following message; - "This is office general of the US Treasury Department. We have been trying to reach you. This call is an official final notice call from Internal Revenue Service. The reason for this call is to inform you that we have filed a law suit against you. For more information call immediately our department number 785 392 6087. I repeat 785 392 6087." Message turned over to the local FBI Office.

This same number contacted my number and left a message for my husband. It's a complete scam and I deleted the message. They need to be stopped especially if they manage to contact an unsuspecting person such as an elderly one!!! The wonders of still having a landline!

I've had that same "lawsuit" call about five times. If I have picked up, I just hang up. They do leave the message on voice mail and message machines. I save one of the messages -- no more calls. I hope the are caught and prosecuted.

“This is Officer General from US Treasury Department We have been trying to reach you.
This call is an offical final notice call from Internal Revenue Services.

Receive the same call and with the IRS claim, we returned the call, and played their game, first asked for $3200 then the amount went to $4800, then to $8500 and if we fought it in court it would be $75,000 to $80,000 in court cost then wanted us to go to Target and get gift cards in the amount of $4800, really gift cards, he kept claiming we were playing with him................We were! We recorded all calls and are turning this over to the IRS and Treasury dept for them to follow through.

Received a call from 785-392-6087 from a recorded voice stating this is the US Government of Tresury & we've been trying to reach you. We are filing a lawsuit against you and to call 7853926087 as soon as possible. They never stated my name.

I got the same call. Robotic male voice claiming to be the officer general of the treasury department giving a final notice (upon their first phone call) of intention to file a lawsuit on behalf of the IRS. Thanks everyone for posting.

This is the 5th call stating I am being sued by some branch of the IRS or the Treasury Dept. etc. and so on for none TAX payments.LOL

I called back...you actually can get on the phone with one of them. I told them i was recording the call (and i was) and proceeded to play along asking for details. None of what they provided matched me. I called them a fraud and they hung up, so i called back 2 more times. i think i'll continue to call back now and then to tell Mr. Watson how they never came to haul me away to jail.

Been getting these calls for many, many months. Just got another a few minutes ago. Funny how they threaten to put me away and I'm still here.

I got the call just now same message and if I didnt pay 3800 now they were going to come to my work/home and arrest me and imprisonment for 30 years and 30k lawsuit...But left me the same voice message
he following message was left on my answering machine on 8/25/16 2:13pm PST. The voice is that of a male. These are the exact words: "From US Treasury Department, we have been trying to reach you. This call is an official final notice from the Internal Revenue Services. The reason for this call is that we have fined a lawsuit against you. For more information, call immediately our department number 785-392-6087, I repeat 785-392-6087"
