"Illinois police" fake charity that wants money

When they call, just tell them you'll be happy to donate $1000, just as soon as you get your winnings from the European Lottery delivered by the ****ian Prince who wants your help collecting money from the account of your long lost cousin Joseph, who recently died in an oil rig fire.

got a call from this number CID said illinois police at 227pm called it back at 300pm said the number you reached has been disconnected

618 855-0185 SCAM If it were legit, it would be "Illinois State Police" rather than "Illinois Police Department", It's also not from a business line it's from a cell phone number.

My mother had gotten a call from this number previously & then again yesterday. She asked them to send her information and she would see about sending a contribution. They kept asking her to make a pledge and she refused and just kept asking them to send her information. When she got off the phone She called our local State Police department and asked about the call and the officer informed her it was a scam. BEWARE!!!

Identified himself from the Ill. State Police. Tried to pressure me into giving a donation.I told him it was a scam and he hung up.

This is a scam not from ILLINOIS POLICE No message in answer box. Do not answer. Otherwise the chargesmay be occurred.

This same scam has been around for a very long time already. The only thing that changes is the phone number calling you. Same CID of "Illinois Police" I've seen posted at other sites from this number. Definitely a scam I've heard far too many times before. Never give out any credit card or identity theft info which is exactly what they're all phishing for.

Have gotten many annoying calls from 618-855-0185. Calls go to answering machine and they disconnect. I am sick and tired of these unwanted, nuisance calls.

Caller ID showed "Illinois Police - 1-618-855-0185." No message was left on my answering machine.
If they keep calling turn them in to the Attorney General - it's against the law in Illinois to impersonate police!
