They call several times a week from local area codes. They say they're the Green Valley Survey Company and "you've been selected to win a cruise in the Bahamas..."

Unknown name, hung up before I could answer. Did not leave a voicemail message.

Called my direct line at work (which I rarely give out) saying I won a 5-day vacation all expenses paid in Orlando. Wanted to verify that I am at least 28 years old and have a credit or debit card. I said yes (without disclosing the numbers or my name). Asked me to hold while he transferred me to another number. That connection was garbled but the guy at the other end asked for my name and whether I had a credit or debit card. I gave the name and said yes but no further details. Then he started taking about how I would be getting 10 days in Cancun Mexico. Since it seemed suspicious in the first place and now he's changing the alleged prize, I Googled the number and saw the red flags. I assume he would have eventually asked me for my credit card info. So I just hung up

Just got a call from this number - the ring sounded a little different than normal which is strange. I answered, there was silence, then nothing.

Return call connects w/ a prerecorded voice intoning that it's for a survey, and to press"9" to be removed from further calls. Doesn't "appear" to be the standard one ring call scam resulting in fraudulent long distant phone charges to Jamaica or some such. Easily blocked by calling ones phone carrier to do so in the future, however, be aware that it's extremely easy to purchase untraceable phone numbers online. Example: Ready SIM (paid w/ cash), RedPhone Beta (uses VolP networks w/ end-to-end encryption), or, simply buying a "burner phone ."

Never leaves a message, unknown with the city saying Los Angeles, CA, probably solicitor using some computerized system which calls many numbers waiting fort one to answer. When I do answer, there is a long pause before connection, I then hang up knowing a sales pitch is about to follow. How does one make this stop? My number is on the do not call list.
