They called with similar threats of legal or punitive action if a tax issue with the IRS was not immediately resolved. Nobody here has tax problems, so we assumed it was a fraud. VERY VERY threatening. These people need to be stopped - no doubt they have scammed a lot of naive innocent people already.

Purports to be IRS and threatens to have law enforcement come and get you, kidnap your entire family, shoot your dog, and steal your Bible if you do not contact them via ANOTHER 206 Area Code number (OBVIOUSLY NOT Washington D.C. !!!). Check the IRS web site. I tried to report these calls but the Treasury Office has over 300,000 reported calls on file and will not accept more! Ummm, ok with 300,000 calls on file I would begin to suspect that something was not right ....and DO something!!!

Originally a prerecorded, computer voice gave the quoted speech above about calling back the treasury. Number came up as from Washington, but NOT Washington, D.C. Called number back from a separate phone (just in case they were fishing for marketing numbers) and someone that sounded like they were trying hard to suppress an accent immediately answered that this was the IRS/Treasury Dept without there being any kind of phone message, caller menu, etc. which every business, including the U.S. Government has. Been contacted by a similar scan before and they eventually am you for money to pay bogus taxes you incorrectly filed years ago or they threaten you that they'll send police to serve you our lock you up. Don't answer!!
