Remember, for things like this the government will always contact you via mail! Certainly a scam. |
| | | Man claiming to be calling to be calling from the United States named Eric Johnson. He spoke poor English and claimed to have grant money in the amount of 9000 dollars. After a few oks and simple yes or nos from me he got agitated and claimed it was I who was wasting his time. He then proceeded to call me an a**** and hung up the phone. Tried to call back and the Verizon recording said the number had been changed to disconnected. |
| | | I also received a call from a male who did not speak English well he was preoccupied with something in the background and was fumbling and stammering but also said he was from the United Stated Government in Washington D.C. he then said the Treasury Dept. I knew immediately it was a scam so I asked POINT BLANK WHAT DO YOU WANT ? The call continued but he was doing something in the background and just stopped talking. i asked two more times WHAT DO YOU WANT ? but he did not respond I terminated the call ! He was after something ! |
| | | Received a call from this number earlier from a gentleman who did not speak good English. I finally got out of him that he was calling from the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. and had a $9,000.00 check for me and was requesting personal information! I told him that the Treasury Department certainly had my information as they had no difficulty reaching me via mail in the past and that I would be watching the mail for my big check!! When I refused to provide him with personal information, he hung up! |
